AGS Students Get Involved in School Policy

The Alaqsite'w Gitpu School is creating PBIS guidelines (Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports) to implement next school year. We teamed up with a group of students yesterday to collaborate on these behaviour guidelines and how they will be promoted. Their contribution to our school is something to be proud of! We're looking forward to continuing this work to improve responsibility, accountability and safety within our school.

Gwe'! Listuguj offers education and training from K4 through adulthood.
Our programs are offered at 6 different locations in the community. We have approximately 600 learners taking part in these programs, both in community and throughout Canada. We're proud to support learners and keep our Mi'gmaw ways of knowing strong.

In December of 2017, fluent Mi'gmaw speakers gathered over two days to talk about our future, as Mi'gmaq. Our vision statement is a strong reminder that we (ginu) continue to speak our language, we (ginu) continue to take pride in who we are, we (ginu) continue to learn.

Foundation of our brand identity

In 2022, the Listuguj Education Directorate chose the Mi’gmaq hieroglyph for Ms’t, meaning All, as the foundation of our logo. Each line of the hieroglyph is colored and modified slightly to depict a horizon – or all of creation. Each person can create their own story of what ms’t means to them. We hope our logo inspires our community to grow as lifelong learners, know their Mi’gmaq identity, and discover their potential. LED is here to support them at every step.
