New Date - Gesig Culture Day 2025

Our Gesig Culture Day has been rescheduled to Friday, January 17th out of respect for the funeral in our community tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.

The Alaqsite’w Gitpu School will celebrate Gesig Culture Day on Friday, January 17, 2025. Everyone is welcome! All students are encouraged to wear their traditional regalia.

Grand Entry is at 10:00 am in the gym. Join us for a Gojua Dance Contest and some Gesig-themed teachings. 

Throughout the day, classes are invited to check out the Gesig Learning Stations at their designated time. Topics for the learning stations include: 

• Traditional Medicine & Tea

• Traditional Tools for Trapping

• Waltes Demo

• Ash Bookmarks

• Language Games

• Tobacco Ties

• Ice Fishing Rod Making Demo

• Fire Making Contest - Middle School
