Updated AGS Cell Phone Policy

Dear Parents/Guardians, 

 

Following the implementation of our AGS Cell Phone Policy in September, issues with classroom distractions, cyberbullying, and inappropriate cell phone use during recess and lunch have persisted. Our students’ health and well-being remain our top priorities. Therefore, after careful consideration, AGS Staff and Administration have decided to ban student cell phones from our school effective Monday, March 9, 2026. We hope that parents and guardians will support us in this decision by ensuring that students leave their phones at home.  


This policy will also help support student engagement, academic success, and social-emotional development by minimizing digital distractions. We want to prepare students to become good digital citizens, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and the safe and responsible use of technology. 


We attached the policy to this letter, which outlines how it will be enforced, as well as a list of frequently asked questions and answers for students and parents/guardians.
