The Listuguj Education Training and Employment (LETE) department is pleased to announce the start of the Geligamju’g Gmitginu program in January 2022.
For two years, the Public Security and Natural Resources Departments of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government worked with the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre to identify a training program for the Rangers.
In May of 2021, a partnership was formed with Collège d’Alma to adapt their Wildlife Protection program. This college program will certify Listugujawaq in their role as caretakers of the land and stewards of the resources. The curriculum will be indigenized to address our needs and include our laws.
30 students have registered and been accepted to commence in mid January 2022.
Building our resources is our goal. The LETE and LMG look forward to the graduates from this program who will uphold our responsibility to the land, water and animals.
