Our school will be closed on Friday, May 2nd, to pay our respects to Fay Metallic, a cherished former colleague and lifelong advocate for Mi’gmaq education and culture.
Fay was one of the first Mi’gmaq teachers at AGS, beginning her career at Lord Beaver Brook School before joining us. She was a dedicated educator, a curriculum developer, and a true pillar of our school. As one of the first McGill graduates in our field, she helped shape the foundation of Indigenous education in our community. Her passion for the Mi’gmaq language, her leadership on countless committees, and even her work as the school gardener all reflect the love and care she poured into AGS over the years.
We remember Fay for her many contributions and the spirit she brought to our halls every day. She will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service for Fay will be held at Maher's Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Friday, May 2nd at 3:00 pm.
